Frequently Asked Questions
1.
What is included in my wedding package?
Each wedding package varies in content; however every package does include the following:
A.
Two Photographers
B.
The wedding day coverage
C.
A wedding proof book to keep
D.
A high resolution dvd of your proofed images to keep(digital negatives)
2.
Why do your packages include two photographers?
I find there are many benefits to having an additional photographer working along side me on your wedding day. Some examples are:
A. We are able to split up and cover two different areas at the same time. An example would be the bride entering the church and the reaction of the groom as he sees his beautiful bride for the first time.
B. We are able to catch a lot more emotion and detail on your wedding day.
C. We have the ability to capture different angles of view, which would be impossible for a single photographer. A good example is the over all view of the ceremony from the back, while still having the ability to capture the close ups of the ring exchange and the kiss.
D. No matter how prepared you are as a photographer, some things can still happen with out warning. It's reassuring for my self and you as my client that if my equipment should fail for any reason there is a back up photographer and equipment near by.
E. Simply put, there are so many details to
capture, to do it thoroughly takes two great photographers.
3.
Who will be my photographer on my wedding day?
You have the option of hiring Laura the studio's main photographer or the associate photographer Jon.Laura and Jon have worked side by side on the majority of the weddings and share a sense of artistic style and talent.
4.
Does my proof book come in color only?
You will receive your proof book in a combination of color and black & white images. I love black and white and white prints, they have a clean
, classic look to them. You may also request to receive some of your images in sepia tone if you wish.
5.
Is there any additional cost for black & white or sepia prints?
No, none at all.
6.
What can I do with the
dvd that is included in my wedding package?
You can email your family and friends and you can also have prints made at your local lab or on your home printer. These digital negatives allow you to have full access to your wedding images allowing you to print as many as you like with out having to come to me to purchase additional prints. As a photographer, this is one of the most valuable options I can offer you, saving you a lot of money in the end.
7.
How large of a print can I make from the
dvd?
These are full size high resolution images, so you can print 8x10, 11x14 and even 16x20's if you wanted.
8.
You classify your wedding style as being photojournalism, what does that mean to me?
As your photographer I work in a manner that is unobtrusive as my goal is to capture your day in a candid, documentary style. I prefer to capture the real moments as they unfold, allowing me to tell the story of your day. I feel it is my job as your photographer to build a collection of images that capture as many decisive moments as possible during your day, as well as creating a complete record of the day's events.
9.
How far in advance do I need to book you?
Finding and booking a photographer should be the second thing you do when planning your wedding. Once you have reserved your site for the wedding, finding the photographer is definitely next. Some dates book a year in advance or more. If you are planning a May or June wedding.don't wait.
10.
What should I wear to my portrait session?
The best advice I can give is go for solids and stay away from prints with patterns. You may want to coordinate your colors, but you do not necessarily have to match, unless you want to.
11.
Why did you switch to digital photography?
There are many benefits to digital photography that convinced me to switch
A.
I never have to limit the number of images I can photograph at your wedding. I am not wasting film, so I can keep shooting until I get the exact moment I want.
B.
We used to be limited to the type of film in our camera, no more. Now I can give you any image you want in color, black & white or sepia.
C.
Digital has made all kinds of art work more available and affordable. How many times have you blinked in the perfect picture? Now I can open your eyes if you blinked, fix any stray hairs, even remove some one or something that shouldn't be in the image.
D.
Digital prints are beautiful! My digital prints are printed at a professional lab on true professional paper. There is a difference between printing on your home printer and the results you achieve at a professional lab.
E.
There is also the convenience and peace of mind of being able to check right away that I captured that image by just looking in my camera. No more waiting weeks for the lab to process my film and hope they do it right, and then print all the proofs of every single image I shot.
F.
My digital workflow has proven to be very efficient. I am able to photograph a wedding, cull and edit, do Photoshop, convert images to black and white and have 500 images proofed for your proof book and delivered to you in two weeks. That is an impossible timeline to follow if you are still using film.
G.
Lastly, the products that are available to you as a digital photographer are endless. I am able to create unique, artistic, prints, coffee table books and flush mount bridal albums. I love the versatility and the freedom I have with my digital photography.
